Information technology and motivation in school

OBJECTIVES

To acquire a better theoretical and practical knowledge of motivation in order to reflect on the relation it maintains with computer technologies in education and to develop computerized teaching environments favoring the motivation of students. Investigate the motivational dynamics of a learner in a learning situation and the external factors influencing it, including computer technologies; Develop skills to recognize and build a learner's motivational profile; Plan the integration of a computer technology in an educational environment so that it meets the conditions to be met in order to motivate the learners.

CONTENT

The course has three components: 1) "Understanding" helps to understand the theories surrounding motivation to learn in different contexts; 2) "Analyze" allows to apply the theoretical knowledge learned in the first part to solve problems of motivation to learn from real cases based on class situations; 3) "Intervene" allows action and reflection. Three steps are proposed: drafting a design estimate, developing a learning activity taking into account the motivating factors and finally writing a final report.
